Simon West

Simon West was born in Hertfordshire, England. He began his career directing TV commercials, such as the Budweiser advert with the dancing ants, before making his feature film directorial debut with Con Air starring Nicolas Cage (1997). Simon West has also directed John Travolta in The General's Daughter (1999) and Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001). He was executive producer on Black Hawk Down (2001).
