John Butler

John Butler writes a weekly column for the Irish Times on Saturday, and writes/directs for film, television and commercials. After graduating from UCD in 1995 with a BA (English and Classics) and an MA (Film Studies), he received a scholarship to the NYU screenwriting program. He has a number of feature scripts in development, and has worked as a segment producer on a nationally syndicated TV show in San Francisco, and as an award-winning director of commercials, TV promos and documentaries in America and in Europe. He lives in London, and is currently writing his novel, Tenderloin.
