Mulcahy Conway Associates aims to do an exceptional job of representing all of its writers’ needs. So, we take on new authors cautiously, ensuring that there is a good fit between their requirements and our agency.
For fiction submissions, please send a covering letter, a synopsis, and the first 50 to 100 pages. All fiction submissions should be double spaced and include page numbers and a footer containing your name and book title, and should not be stapled or bound.
For non-fiction submissions, a review of the authors and books areas of this website will demonstrate the diversity of writers that we represent. Your subject may be a profound or light-hearted one and your style may be anything from authoritative to quirky. What we seek is a book topic that will attract a general readership, written by an author who is appropriately qualified. The most important element is always the quality of the writing.
A non-fiction proposal must contain detailed but concise information about your subject, and about the qualifications and experience that will enable you to write the book. It is important to have at least a short sample of the material, a brief synopsis of your proposal or manuscript, and an accompanying letter of typically one or two pages. Please summarise any competing books on the subject, why your proposal distinguishes itself, and any other information about yourself that will be of relevance to your written work.
Please let us know if your proposal is on submission to other agencies. Many submissions are sent to us and we will always reply to your enquiry, though this may take some time due to the volume of submissions that we receive.
We will only review submissions that have been posted to us. You can also email your submission using the contact page of this website, but please note that this is only for backup purposes. We will not review email only submissions. Please include your email address when posting material to us. Please send submissions to:
