Ivan Mulcahy
Ivan Mulcahy was born in Dublin. After studying Politics at Trinity College, he moved to London and joined Reuters, the leading global news and information business. Ivan spent fourteen years with Reuters, including four in New York, four in Stockholm and three in his home town, Dublin. He was promoted rapidly and at the time of leaving in the late 1990s was responsible for all Reuters business in North Europe (250 staff across eight countries containing four international news bureaux). Ivan then became one of the principals of a successful international information technology business called MetaMatrix Inc. Passionate about books and film, in 2002 he founded a literary agency. Ivan particularly enjoys working with authors of memoir or biography. He also likes finding new voices in fiction for children. In addition, he is looking for new crime or thriller writers.
Jonathan Conway
Jonathan Conway was born in London. After graduating with first class honours in English Language and Literature from Oxford University, he studied French language at l'Université de Franche-Comté. He then completed a Masters degree in the History of International Relations at the London School of Economics. Prior to becoming a literary agent, Jonathan worked as a researcher in the House of Commons and as a journalist for several national newspapers and magazines. He represents a diverse list of fiction and non-fiction writers, from the very commercial to the literary, and manages the publishing careers of a growing list of high-profile media and sports personalities.
Laetitia Rutherford
Laetitia Rutherford read English at Balliol College, Oxford. After graduating, she briefly lived in New York, then returned to London and joined Prospect magazine. She moved to HarperCollins as Marketing Executive in 1998, then in 2001 decided to take a Masters in Twentieth Century Literature at Goldsmiths College. She freelanced as a reader and copywriter, before joining Toby Eady Associates as a Literary Agent in 2003, working with key clients and developing her list. Now representing a mix of fiction and non-fiction writers, she is particularly looking for historical novels and women’s commercial fiction, as well as outstanding literary novels. As a Londoner she is also keen on urban fiction, with a thought-provoking edge. In non-fiction, she likes strong writing and argument, as well as humour.
Joanna Moult
Joanna Moult is Editorial Director for Children’s Books at Mulcahy Conway Associates. Her editorial career started at Hodder Children’s Books before moving to Simon and Schuster as Senior Commissioning Editor where she also covered for the Editorial Director. Joanna particularly enjoys supporting and encouraging new authors to have confidence in their voice and bring out their full potential. She and her family have just returned to the UK after living for over a year in India. She has edited authors such as Mary Hogan, Sophie McKenzie, Mark Robson, Alex Shearer, Matt and Dave (the Beastly Boys) as well as series such as Felicity Wishes fiction and Animal Ark.
Stephanie Cohen
Stephanie Cohen is Business Manager of Mulcahy Conway Associates. In addition to running the agency’s office and finances, Stephanie is responsible for all author accounting. After working in other industries, Stephanie joined the accounts department of The Publishers Association in 1987. She subsequently moved to manage the royalty departments of Little, Brown, then Bloomsbury, and later Thames and Hudson. She has also worked as royalties accountant within Orion. Stephanie was previously Business Manager when at Texere Publishing, now part of Thomson Learning. In July 2008 Stephanie graduated with first class honours in Humanities and English from Birkbeck College, University of London.
